I like how this photographer zooms in a specific part of the ocean. This demonstrates how he does not want the viewers of this picture to think that he is just taking photographs of the beautiful things in life. In a way he is giving it a mysterious message as this pictures makes me wonder if where this place is at. I chose this photographer because i can relate to him. I also takes pictures where i like to zoom in on them and/or take them in weird angles and it makes my picutures as well seem mysterious. Also the fact that is is in black and white makes the message stand out even more.

Getting photographs is not the most important thing. For me it’s the act of photographing. It’s enlightening, therapeutic and satisfying, because the very process forces me to connect with the world. When you make four-hour exposures in the middle of the night, you inevitably slow down and begin to observe and appreciate more what’s going on around you. In our fast-paced, modern world, it’s a luxury to be able to watch the stars move across the sky. - Michael Kenna
